Deck builder on long island

We called EZ-Decks because they had such a great Angies list review, and so far this method has not steered us wrong.
In late winter, EZ-Decks gave us an estimate that was substantially lower in cost than the other prices we got for the same job. In addition, Steve the owner and salesperson suggested that we dress up the project with a curved outline, which we liked very much. He also suggested an enlarged landing, which we also thought was a great idea. I waited for these suggestions to raise the price -- but they did not, Steve made these suggestions 'on his dime'.
We did wait for a few months for our install date. However I took this as my own fault. I had waited on the decision until the spring, which is his busy season. In the interim we had some questions which we relayed via email and Steve answered.
By the end of the summer, we had our deck and it is BEAUTIFUL.
The crew did a careful and complete job of demolition. We had many usable plants in a garden where the deck would go, and I expected grousing and perhaps an extra charge to remove these plants without destroying them -- but his crew complied and there was no drama. We also had sprinkler lines that traversed the area, and so his crew had to dig them up to move them out of their way -- with my permission. Again, no drama. I was thankful for that.
I was impressed with the care and materials used for the footings - they used casings and brackets which I was informed are required to be up to code.
Once the crew began the framing, I could see they were each skilled carpenters and could see by the care they took that everything was going to come out great. Every joint was double checked with a square -- even for the framing, which would be invisible once the project was complete. At the end of each day, the entire work area was cleaned up and they respected my property and treated the project as if it were their own.
The final work is exquisite, with every seam and joint perfect. The curved line that Steve suggested really dresses up the project, and so does the larger landing. We are pleased that we decided to use the Trexx product, and with the expectation that it will look like new for many years to come with no maintenance required.
We are looking forward to another project with Steve -- an upgrade to the gates that enter our yard with pool safe aluminum gates.
We would recommend using EZ-Decks 110%, they did a beautiful job at a very reasonable cost.
